Billing rentals: invoices, deposits, late fees & waivers

Getting paid for a booking

1. 1Tap Invoice to bill the rental. Multi-day rentals and the attendant fee are included. If a moving-bin rental is already late, the late fee so far is added too.
2. 2Tap Bill deposit to send the refundable security deposit as its own bill. Deposits are never taxed.
3. 3When the rental comes back, tap Return deposit to give it back, or Keep deposit if there was damage. A kept deposit counts as income.
4. 4Moving bins came back later than you billed for? After Mark returned, tap Bill late fee to send just the extra days.

Damage waiver

1. 1Tap Email link to send the renter the waiver, or Copy link to text it yourself.
2. 2They open it on their phone, read it, tick the box and type their name. You get a bell alert and the card shows Signed by their name.
3. 3Signing in person? Tap Sign and type the name they give you.

Good to know

• A booking can only be billed once for the rental, once for the deposit and once for extra late days, so a double tap never double bills.
• Returning a deposit that was paid by card records the refund in your books. Also refund the card in your payment account (Stripe). An unpaid deposit bill is cancelled instead.
• Refund & cancel for bad weather gives back both the rental and the deposit the same way.
• Due dates follow the customer's payment terms, or your default in Settings → Payments.
