Pricing junk jobs by the truck load
The crew picks how full the truck got, sees your price, gets the customer's OK, and the bill goes out when the job is done.
Most junk jobs are priced by how much of the truck they fill. Turn on Truck Load Meter & Load Pricing in Settings → Line Features → Junk Removal, then open it to set your prices.
Your settings
- Full truck price: what one completely full truck costs. Half a truck is half this price, a quarter is a quarter, and so on. Leave it at 0 if you only want to record how full the truck got.
- Minimum charge: the least you charge for any pickup, even one item.
- Bill the customer when the job is done: sends the bill as soon as the crew finishes the stop.
- Customer must OK the price before loading: the crew can't finish the stop until they type the name of the customer who agreed.
What the crew does
- 1At the stop, look at the pile and tap the size: Min, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, Full and so on.
- 2Bigger jobs: use Full loads before this one to add whole trucks.
- 3Show the customer the price. Type their name under Customer OK'd this price. If the size changes later, they have to OK the new price again.
- 4Load up, then enter the Dump fee paid and where you dumped it.
- 5Finish the stop. The customer gets the bill by email with a pay link.
Good to know
- The price is always worked out from your settings, so a crew can't change it by mistake.
- If the customer was already billed for an estimate when they accepted your quote, that bill is changed to the final price. They are never billed twice. If they already paid the estimate, they're billed only the difference. If the job came in lower, you get an alert to refund or credit them.
- Special-disposal charges from the Prohibited / Hazmat Flag are added to the same bill.
- Each dump fee is saved under Dump fees in Expenses, so your profit reports are right. Reports → Operations shows dump fees next to your load sales.
- The customer sees the load size and the price they agreed to on their visit record.
