Invoicing and taking payments in the field
Techs can bill a customer on the spot and collect cash, a check, a saved card, or a pay link.
Making an invoice
- 1On the current stop, tap Invoice. Or open Customers in the menu and pick someone.
- 2Tap the items you did from your price list. Use + and − to change how many.
- 3Change a price or tap Add a custom item if your owner allows it.
- 4Tap Create & take payment to collect now, or Create & email it to pay later.
Ways to get paid
- Cash — enter what they handed you and the app shows the change to give back.
- Check — enter the check number.
- Card on file — charge the card they already saved. They get an emailed receipt.
- Pay link — they scan the code on your screen with their phone, or you text or email it. The invoice marks itself paid when they pay. This needs online payments turned on (Settings → Payments).
To collect on an invoice they already owe, tap Payment on the stop, or Take payment on the customer's page. A tech only sees the customers they're allowed to see (see "Which jobs field techs can see").
Tip: My Sales shows what each tech collected today, including the cash and checks to turn in at the end of the shift. Every field payment also shows on the Billing page and in the customer's history.
Buttons that open the app ask you to sign in first. New to RouteStacker? Start free.
