API tokens, Zapier and AI assistants
Let another app or an AI assistant read or change your data — only what you allow.
A token is a secret key another app uses to work with your RouteStacker data. Each token only does what you allow, so you can give Zapier "view leads" without letting it touch your bills.
Make a token
- 1Go to Settings → Integrations → API, AI tools & Webhooks.
- 2Press New token and give it a name, like "Zapier".
- 3For each area — Customers, Subscriptions, Leads, Visits, Bills, Reports — pick None, View, or View & change.
- 4Optional: add a webhook address and pick events to be told about (new customer, visit finished, payment received…).
- 5Press Generate token and copy it right away. You won't see it again.
What other apps can do
- Look up and add customers, leads and services.
- Book visits (they use your service templates for time and crew), skip them, or assign a technician.
- Pausing or cancelling a service removes its upcoming visits, just like in the app.
- Create one-time bills and email the pay link. Payments are only ever taken by your customer through their pay link or portal.
Use it with an AI assistant
Assistants like Claude or ChatGPT can connect to your business. Copy the AI assistant (MCP) address from the card, add it as a custom connector in your assistant, and paste your token when it asks. The assistant only sees the tools your token allows.
Tip: Need to change what a token can do? Press the pencil next to it. Press the bin to shut it off — anything using it stops working right away.
For developers: the API reference link on the card opens the full list of addresses and fields (OpenAPI format).
